Margaret Joy Feltmeyer

Born June 23, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Joy Mae Young and Bill Singer, she married Donald Feltmeyer on June 26, 1947. He died September 16, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Russell R. Coman; one son, Jack Feltmeyer; one great-grandchild, Silas Snider; one sister, Mary Moore; one brother, Jack Chappell; one sister-in-law, Donna Chappell; and her best friend of 70 years LaVern Hightower.

Surviving are her two daughters, Donna (Ronald) Hawkins of South Pekin and Linda (Scott) Shreffler of Pekin; five grandchildren, Tonica (Lynken) Toyne of Florida, Ronald (Connie) Hawkins and Angela Feltmeyer, both of South Pekin, Brian (Alecia) Shreffler of Pekin and Rachel (Justin) Snider of Manito; eight great-grandchildren, Selene, Remmington, Cody, Carter, Macayla, Sonni, Nora and Beau.

A homemaker, Margaret dedicated a lot of time to the South Pekin community. She was a member of the South Pekin Library Board, the grade school volunteer since 1990, a Sunday School teacher since 1964, and a past PTA member.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of South Pekin.

Her visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Ken Stewart will officiate. Burial will take place following the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
