

Born November 2, 1929 in Fairbury to Fred and Mary Ellen (Bachtold) Ifft, Sr., she married Marvin D. Ulm on October 8, 1967 in Peoria. He died May 8, 2017 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, Ken Ulm and six siblings, Mabel Teubel, Maxine Fletcher, Gilbert and Bernard Ifft and infant twin brothers, Ray and Allen Ifft.
Surviving are one son, Steven (Jami) Ulm of Peoria; two stepdaughters, Penny (Frank) Gibbs of Canton and Patricia Fagan of Peoria; six grandchildren, Joshua (Kathleen) Ulm, Megan Ulm, Shawn Fagan, Dawn Fagan, Jeremiah Gibbs and Jessica (C.J.) Reneau; four great-grandchildren and seven siblings, Velda, Arnold, Fred(Karen) Ifft and Lola (Norman) Young, all of Fairbury, Mary Anne (Roland) Young and Dorothy (Wendell) Young, both of Cissna Park and Carolyn (Ben) Bolliger of Salem, Oregon.
A homemaker, Margaret enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and making butterfly magnets and handing them out to the residents where she lived. She also loved reading her Bible and going for walks, continuing up to her passing.
Margaret was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria and faithfully watched Grace Alive the last couple of years.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor John Hopwood will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be given to South Side Mission, 1127 Laramie Street, Peoria, Illinois 61605, where Margaret volunteered and was active in the quilting group.
