

She was born May 3, 1939 in Freeport, Illinois to James B. and Louise M. (Claypool) Custer. Her parents and one sister, Janet Just, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her two nephews, Reid (Nikki) Just and Kyle (Trish) Just; two great-nephews, Kaleb (Lacie) Just and Tristian Just, one great-niece, Emma Just, and two great-great nephews, Kameron Just and Oliver Just.
Margery had worked for the State of Illinois in various departments including DCFS and Conservation, retiring in 1996.
Marge was a Christian and supported many churches and Christian organizations throughout the years.
Margery was an avid reader and enjoyed historical, inspirational, spiritual, and devotional books along with the occasional fiction. She was a passionate animal lover and kept cockatiels, and later cats that she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
