Maria Deanna Erdmier

Born May 14, 1981 in Peoria to Marvin Deane and Olivia V. (Frangenberg) Furrer, she married Chris A. Erdmier on October 14, 2008 on Captiva Island in Florida. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother of Morton; three children, Ethan Erdmier, Aubrey Erdmier and Levi Erdmier, all at home; one brother, Michael Furrer of North Richland Hills, Texas and two sisters, Michele (Gene) Smith of Pekin and Marsha (Mark) Gibson of East Peoria. She also leaves her in-laws, Barry and Susan Erdmier of Morton; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Jennifer) Erdmier of Morton and James Erdmier of Los Angeles and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Mark L. Furrer.

Maria loved her job working for Medtronic for the past five years assisting with robotic surgeries throughout Central Illinois. She previously worked for OSF Healthcare as a surgical tech on the orthopedic team and first at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. She had earned her surgical technologist certification from Illinois Central College.

Maria loved being a mom and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and liked boating and water skiing.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Paul Backhaus will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
