

PEKIN ~ Marian Jean Brueckner, 83, of 1912 St. Clair Drive, passed away at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Pekin Hospital Emergency Room.Born July 13, 1924 in Kewanee to Victor and Minnie (Conrads) Johnson, she married Leonard James Brueckner on May 1, 1948 in Peoria. He died August 23, 2006 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents.Also surviving are one son, Kurt M. (Sue) Brueckner of Scottsdale, Arizona; one daughter, Stephanie L. (Thad) Kuhfuss of Minier; five grandchildren, Dax W. (Jill) Kuhfuss of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Zachary L. Kuhfuss of Champaign, Ryan C. Brueckner, Austin K. Brueckner, both of Scottsdale and Lauren M. Brueckner of San Diego, California and one sister, Alice (Hartzell) Kramm of Pekin.A homemaker, Marian worked as a secretary in Peoria prior to her marriage.She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin and the United Methodist Women of the church. She also was a member of Chapter GW of the PEO Sisterhood in Pekin. She was a charter member of the Alpha Iota Sorority in Peoria and a former member of the Republican Women's Club in Pekin.She enjoyed gardening and traveling and was known as a great cook.Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners' Hospital for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707 or to the Grace United Methodist Church, 503 North 4th Street, Pekin, IL 61554.
