

Born on April 28, 1928 in Peoria to George H. and Ella (Brauer) Ehrlicher, she married William Lindland Mattheessen on July 2, 1950 in Pekin. He died on August 7, 2007 in Pekin. Her parents also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three children, William George Mattheessen of Slidell, LA; Robert (and Paula) Mattheessen and Karen Mattheessen (and Tim Bueter), both of Pekin and three grandchildren, Tabitha Mattheessen of Peoria, John (and Maggie) Mattheessen of Chicago and Clara Mattheessen of Charleston.
A graduate of Monticello College in 1948, Marian graduated in 1950 from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Since 2007 Marian has served as the vice-president and a director of the Herget Financial Corp. in Pekin and had served on the Herget Bank, National Association board of directors from 1978 to 2007.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin and the Concordia Society of her church. She also was a member of the William Schaefer American Legion Post 44 Ladies Auxiliary, American Association of University Women and the Pekin Women’s Club. She was a former board member of the Kickapoo Council of Girl Scouts.
Marian was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Rodger P. Abatie will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
