Mrs. Reid was my piano teacher from the time I was in 7th grade through 11th grade.  She was always so kind and patient with me and made leaning piano fun.  I'll always remember her awesome silver aluminum Christmas tree with the colored light wheel.  She was one of a kind.

I thank Mrs. Reid for making me the pianist that I am today. I am forever grateful! She was a class act!

Mrs Reid was my music teacher from 4th grade until senior year in high school 1970-1979.  She influenced me to the greatest length and instilled the love of music in me. through her encouragement, I did go on to get a teaching certificate in Piano Pedagogy (piano teaching) at ICC  and opened my own study and taught for many years.  Earth will definitely miss a lovely ,gentle and  gifted soul but heaven is gaining much more!  On angel's winds to Jesus's arms Mrs. Reid!

Dear John and Diane, Charissa and Scott, and all of the family, 
I was blessed to see all of you again and share in your memories of my Aunt Marian. As I listened to those relating their fond memories, I realized how little I knew her. She touched a lot of people in a very special way. Personally, I will never forget all of us crowded around Grandma and Grandpa Squier's dining room table during the holidays. There was never a dull moment when we were together :)
I pray each of you is blessed with the peace and comfort of our good Heavenly Father.

I am so very sorry for your loss.  I have such fond memories of being one of Mrs. Reid's piano students for many years growing up.  And then my daughter also took lessons from her.  She was always such a pleasant lady with such a beautiful smile and kind words.

Marian lived across the street from my grandparents Roy and Mabel Wallinger. I was also friends with Sally and I loved playing at her house. We made a fort in their backyard out of refrigerator boxes . Marian made us curtains. We loved listening to her play the organ Moon River was my favorite. She was a lovely lady. Our deepest sympathy to all the family.

My four children took piano lessons from Marian  for many years, and she was beloved and valued by all of us. (Three of the four became music teachers.) Marian was so talented, consistent, caring, and organized and took such pride in her family and students.  We will always treasure and appreciate the memories!

I took advanced piano lessons from Mrs. Reid in the early 60’s.   She also encouraged me to take organ lessons, which I did.  She definitely had a lasting impact on my life.  I’m now 72 and continue to play two pipe organs in Delavan, IL plus substitute at other churches.  I also continue to play the piano at church, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.  I did visit her right before Covid, and we had a great visit.  

Mrs. Reid will always be remembered as a caring, kind, patient teacher and friend. She taught me not just how to play the piano, but how to love and appreciate all that the piano can do in conveying emotion and soul. She introduced me to centuries of composers who were masters at their craft. I'm so grateful for her commitment to teaching young people like myself the beauty of piano and of music. Beloved by her students and all those she encountered, she will be missed. Praying for her family and loved ones during this time.

I took 10 years of piano lessons from Mrs Reid.  I learned a lot from her and enjoyed playing on the yamaha piano she had. One day I ran into her at the grocery store and I told her I still played the piano. She was pleased I kept up with it. My condolences to the family during this time..~~Judy Gordon~~

Besides being a talented and disciplined musician herself, Marian introduced a legion of youngsters to the love of music. She played many a bride down the aisle and comforted funeral mourners with familiar hymns of hope and praise. She also encouraged and coached insecure soloists. It was a treat to be working at church on practice days. Then we got to hear Sunday's music more than once. She was a loyal friend, and and I treasure memories of her "tut tutting"Judy and Chic's bantering. Knowing her has been a blessing to our whole family and we are grateful to her family for sharing her with us.
