Marie Alice Hacker

Born July 30, 1932 in Pekin to Wallie Wade and Etta Mae (Bloomer) Simpson, she married Robert “Bob” W. Hacker on November 17, 1949 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Virginia M. (Paul) Anderson of Pekin; three grandchildren, Angie M. Jones of Pekin, Chris M. (Liza) Jones of New Jersey and William E. Hacker, of Pekin; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Barbara Long, of Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Hacker on April 26, 2011; one great-grandson, Logan Mikel Hacker and two sisters, Betty Lietz and Maryetta Bechtel.

Marie was a former member of the Women of the Moose and a Girl Scout leader.

A homemaker and avid Chicago Cubs fan, Marie enjoyed attending Country Opry’s, bowling and sewing. She also loved crafting and watching her grandson play hockey for the Pekin Dragons.

She was a former member of Pekin First Church of God.

Her graveside will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor John Vaughn will officiate.
