Marie L Gorsage

Born March 11, 1905 in Paton, Iowa to John and Frederika (Groteguth) Morgenthaler, she married Jesse Daniel Gorsage on June 19, 1926 in Pekin. He died October 15, 1966 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Marie Gorsage and Marilyn Gorsage; two sisters and several half-brothers and sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Velma Mae "Peg" Gorsage of Pekin; one sister, Helen E. Clauson of Toulon and several nieces and nephews.

In earlier years, Marie worked as a telephone operator in Delavan and later in Pekin.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin, where she was a member and former secretary of the Friendship Club. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and Rachel-Sarah Circle at the church.

Marie was a life member of the Celestial City Chapter 333 of the Order of Eastern Star in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007at the funeral home, and also one half-hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
