

Born March 18, 1920 in Scotland Township, McDonough County to Carlton A. and Anna Bernettie (Southwood) Beckelhymer, she married Harold Rankin Wallace on August 11, 1952 in Peoria. He died January 3, 1974 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roy and Floyd Beckelhymer and one sister, Juanita Deeb.
Surviving are five daughters, Judy (Darrel) Rosenberg of Belleville, Jeanette (Larry) Spencer of Sherman, Linda Wallace of Peoria, Diane Wallace of Springfield and Sherry (Rick) Semonis of East Peoria; thirteen grandchildren, Julie (Mat) Bainbridge of Washington, Jim (Denise) Weiss of Chatham, Greg (Rhonda) Tobin of Petersburg, Bryan (Jennifer) Tobin of Thayer, Jodee (Michael) Overmeyer, Jarrod Spencer, Honey Lynn Spencer, all of Springfield, Jeff Spencer of Sherman, Kim Levering of Florida, Todd Wallace of Peoria, Amy (Mark) Whiting of Pekin, Jeremy (Sara) Semonis of Normal and Erin (Marc) Laighton of North Carolina; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a Christian and attended Sherman United Methodist Church.
She worked as an office assistant for Cedars of Lebanon in Peoria for many years. Marjorie also had been a longtime waitress.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Mike Pennell will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Rushville City Cemetery.
