She was born January 3, 1966, in Brazil, Indiana to James and Patricia (Chaman) Cass. Her parents and two sisters, Vicki Nevins and Tina Lovett, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her two daughters, Christina Smiley of Indiana and Amanda Smiley; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kathy Ann (Dan) Targett, Lori Smiley and Janet Cass; her cousin, Stephanie Fitzanko of Pekin; and her two nieces, Jeanie and Jenny.
Marla loved animals but her dogs were her babies. She loved being with her family and spending time outside.
There will be no services at this time. A gathering celebrating Marla’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Forest Park in Brazil, Indiana. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
