Born March 22, 1924 in Cedar Creek, Nebraska to Martin and Elizabeth (Friedrich) Lohnes, he married Dora Buckles on July 6, 1947 in Pekin.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Kathleen (Mark) Kalhammer of Pekin; one son, Darrell (Candy) Lohnes of Pekin; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Poe of Pekin.
Marvin worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria for 37 years, retiring as a purchasing agent in 1982.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Marvin was a former member of the American Foundrymen's Association; former member and past president of the Wilmor Sportsmen's Club, and former member and past president of the Wilson School Dads' Club in Pekin.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and wood carving.
Marvin was an avid Saint Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
Cremation will be accorded. There will be no visitation or services.
