Mary Alice Avery

She was born October 29, 1955 in Pekin to Herman and Ellen (Smith) Avery.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Jeffrey Scott Avery.

Surviving are 2 brothers, Leslie (Jeannie) Avery of Pekin and Carl (Judy) Avery of South Pekin; 3 sisters, Linda (Frank) Eichwald of Pekin, Rita (David) Hellrigel of Mt. Sterling, and JoAnn (Ivan) Logue of Easton;  and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She had last worked as a cook at Perino’s Nursing in Pekin and had previously worked as a packer at Foster-Gallager in Peoria.

Mary was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Pekin.

She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and crafts.  She loved spending time with her family and was an animal lover.

Her graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, in Beardstown Cemetery. Elder Clayton Denning will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
