

Born October 16, 1933 in Houston, Texas to Jim and Margaret (Gallatin) Witovec, she married Robert Harold Taylor on July 21, 1956 in Houston. He died on February 26, 2015 in East Peoria. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Drake Taylor.
Surviving are one daughter, Debra Ann Taylor of Valencia, CA; four sons, Robert James (Karen) Taylor of Germantown Hills, Randall Guy (Beverly) Taylor of Dunlap, Richard Scott (Lori) Taylor of Olathe, KS and Russell Eric Taylor of Libertyville; three grandsons, Chris Taylor, Joseph Robert Taylor and James Richard Taylor; two granddaughters, Kate Lambert and Jenn Lambert; two great-grandchildren, Landen and Madelyn and one brother, Jim (Ann) Witovec of Arkansas.
A 1955 graduate of the University of Houston College of Nursing, Mary Ann worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years. She last worked as the Director of Nursing and co-manager of Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin for fifteen years, retiring in 1999.
She loved to travel and was an avid reader. Mary Ann also enjoyed indoor gardening and playing games, cards and puzzles.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
A joint funeral Mass for Mary Ann and her husband, Robert, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
