ELizabeth Slifer

June 11, 2019

My mom was a distant cousin of Mary Lamb Hill. They went to school together until mom moved in 7th grade. Mary got to start school at age 4 because she kept slipping in after lunch to the classroom. She knew quite a bit so the teacher let her stay. Also, one time a heavy snow occurred and the kids went to the outhouse to use it. My uncle, Jim Hurley, had to carry Mary on his shoulders so she could make it to the outhouse. My mom reacquainted with Mary when my parents moved to Warrensburg, MO. They enjoyed many dinners together as well as visiting in the various places that Mary lived while she was in Warrensburg. The Slifer family is praying for your family at this time.
