Born February 14, 1933 in Galesburg to Herman and Tillie (Lohnes) Stockert, she married Robert Liescheidt on September 2, 1956 in Pekin. He died January 7, 2000 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two nephews, Steven F. Sebade of Hudson, John W. (Jeanne) Frazier of Petersburg; three nieces, Paula A. (David) Redenius of Sherman, Pamela J. (Harmon) Snider of Havana, Ruth A. (Ralph) Huckstadt of Bloomington; thirteen grandnieces and grandnephews; two great-grandnephews and a lifelong friend, Gayle Peura.
She was a member of the Pekin Community High School class of 1951.
Mary Lou had worked for Dr. Glasford in Pekin for five years as a secretary, she then worked thru Manpower in Peoria for three years, then Walgreens in Peoria as a cashier for one year. She retired in 1995 after 17 years as a cashier at Kmart in Pekin.
Mary Lou enjoyed reading and doing embroidery. She loved dogsitting for her favorite puppies, Einstein and Rascal who thought she was their mother
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she had been a member of the choir and had been a church organist. She had also served in the Ladies Aid and Concordia Society at the church.
Her funeral will at 11 a.m. Friday July 28, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. Rev. David Spaeth will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
