Mary Louise Shaw

Born December 31, 1931 in Pope County to Harry Lloyd and Ada (Cowgill) Shelby, she married Robert Shaw in Peoria on December 30, 1960. He survives of East Peoria.

Also surviving are four sons, James L. (Rae Anne) Hamp, Roger D. (Kathy) Hamp, Ralph D. Hamp, and Robert E. (Carol) Shaw, all of East Peoria; four sisters, Shirley Gaskins of Carpenterville, Joyce Clanton of Rosiclare, Margaret Shelby of Eichorn, and Patsy Shelby of Coco Beach, FL; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Don (Shirley) Shelby of Eichorn. One brother preceded her in death.

Mary worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring as a clerk on December 31, 1987. She loved gardening, crocheting, and collecting pictures of her grandchildren.

She was of the Christian faith

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Walden will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
