

Born May 1, 1927 in Aledo to Joseph and Addie (Shallenburg) Clark, she married Ernest T. Stubblefield on March 27, 1943 in Palmyra, Missouri. He died July 18, 2013 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; two brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Jean Clark of Morton and Theresa Suzann “Sue” Pollard of Mackinaw; one son, Ernest Grover Stubblefield of East Peoria; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Magdelin Clark of St. Louis, Missouri.
Mary had worked as a cook for Creve Coeur District 102 Daycare for 25 years, until retiring in 2005.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, Pekin Chapter for 15 years. She loved country western music, was an Elvis Presley fan, and an avid dancer. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mary’s funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. David Jassman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
