She was born November 19, 1932 in Pekin to James Ira and Mary Jane (Brogan) Cohenour. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Jean Cohenour and Sharon Waremburg.
Surviving are one son, Ronald (Melinda) Wiegand of Peoria; two daughters, Mildred Wiegand and Tina Wiegand, both formerly of Peoria; three brothers, Jim (Eva "Mamie") Cohenour of Pekin, Jack (Emma) Cohenour of California and John Cohenour of Pekin and three sisters, Leona May Lock of South Pekin, Patricia Ann Azure of Farmington and Virginia (Noland) Henderson of Pekin. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews including Rochelle Goodman of Bartonville, who was her caregiver.
A homemaker, Mary enjoyed watching television.
Mary was a devoted member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God in rural Pekin. She was known for her spunk and feistiness. Mary never met a stranger.
Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin. The Rev. Steven M. Rowell, Sr. will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
