Melinda Sue McCulley

Born June 23, 1965 in Pekin to Gene and Mary (Holloway) Carroll, she married Marc McCulley on June 6, 1989 in Pekin.

Surviving are her husband of 34 years; two daughters, Kristen Helmig of Pekin and Sandra Helmig of Owensboro, Kentucky; two sons, Bryan (Lindsey) McDonald of Rome, Georgia and Marc Andrew (April) McCulley of Lewistown; her parents; Gene and Mary Carroll of Pekin; three grandchildren, Wesley, Ethan and Addison and one sister, Patty (Damon) Helmig of Chapman, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Carroll.

A homemaker, Mel was an Alabama Crimson Tide football fan, who enjoyed camping, fishing, four-wheel trucks and riding side by sides. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor David Auxier will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
