Born March 26, 1955 in Gary, Indiana to Donald Gene and Connie Jean (Judis) Adkins, he married Pamela Sopher on October 20, 1979 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Billy Buck of East Peoria, Robert (Dayna) Buck of Pekin and Michael (Trinity) Adkins of Peoria Heights; one daughter, Danielle Adkins of Pekin; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary (Scott) DeVos of Texas, Tammy (Craig) Carrol of Morton, Donna (Joe) Girard of Pekin and Susan (Mike) Isham of Georgia; three brothers, Randy (JoEllen) Adkins of Pekin, Robert (Debbie) Adkins of Marquette Heights and Donald Adkins of Creve Coeur and his step-mom, Nancy Adkins of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Virden.
Michael served in the United States Army National Guard.
He had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria as an assembler for 36 years, retiring in 2010.
Michael enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his Harley. He was an avid collector of many things and enjoyed tinkering.
His private family funeral and visitation will be Monday, November 30, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
