

He was born October 8, 1954 in Pekin to John F. and Helen J. (Moroz) Biga.
Surviving are three daughters, Jesse (Aaron) Shafer of Moscow Mills, Missouri, Taylor (Kyle Boland) Biga of Troy, Missouri and Avery Biga of Pekin; four grandchildren, Brayden, Adeline, Finley and Mathew and one sister, Roseann Biga of Pekin.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Sally; one brother, Phil and Avery’s mother, Jill Hill.
He worked for Air-Land Transport in Morton, retiring as a dispatcher in January, 2019 after 33 years.
An avid sports fan, Mike had been a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and the Peoria Pirates Indoor Football team. He had been a longtime member of the Chicago Bears and the Peoria Pirates Fan Club. He also enjoyed working out at Mason’s Gym in downtown Pekin and coaching his daughter’s softball teams.
His funeral will be at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Heather Robertson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin at a later date.
