He was born on March 18, 1979, in Pekin, a son of Michael Joseph Branchfield, Sr. and Rhonda K. (Farson) Branchfield. Joey married Sherri Werner on October 21, 2006 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2016, in Pekin.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Neva Farson and Frank and Centa Branchfield, his brother, Matthew Branchfield and a cousin, Joshua Farson.
Joey is survived by his mother, Rhonda Branchfield of Pekin and his father, Michael Branchfield, of Chillicothe.
He last worked for RAILS as a driver.
Joey liked comics and Comicon events. He also enjoyed pop culture.
His celebration of life gathering will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. His celebration of life service will follow at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Gene Guinn will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the AF & AM Empire Lodge #126 in Pekin.
