Michael "Mike" Roy Brown

Born February 12, 1952, in Pekin to Leslie and Lillian “Lucille” (Althiser) Brown, he married Debra Morrison on November 10, 1973. She survives.

Also surviving are their children, Christie (Guy Tisdale) Brown of Janesville, Wisconsin and Steven M. Brown of Pekin; one grandson, Garrett Johnson and one sister, Judy Horner of Manito.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Alissa Childs.

He retired from County Market about ten years ago as a stocker and sanitation worker. People still comment on his work ethic and pride in his job when Debra visits the store.

Mike enjoyed watching TV, especially the news, WWE and Chicago Cubs. His family knew not to call when a Chicago Cubs game was on because he would be watching intently.

Mike’s graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor Sean Peters will officiate. A gathering celebrating Mike’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. directly following the graveside service at the First United Methodist Church.
