He was born March 8, 1951 in Pekin to James and Joyce Mutchler Dykes.
Surviving are 1 sister, Jennifer Tyler of Belleville; 1 nephew, Collin Tyler also of Belleville; and 1 uncle, Loren (Sherri) Mutchler of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Michael worked as a baker at Panera Bread Company in Quincy since August, 2005.
He had served in the U.S. Army from 1972-79, attaining the rank of Sergeant. His tours of duty included Ft. Knox and Germany. .
He was an avid antique toy collector and New York Yankees baseball fan.
Services will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
