

FOREST CITY ~ Michael Lee "Cowboy Mike" Wallace, 56, of 501 NW Market Street, died at the scene of an automobile accident at 10:59 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 in Sand Prairie Township in rural Tazewell County.
He was born April 24, 1951 in Pekin to Howard Lee and Betty Jean Thomas Wallace.
Surviving are his parents of Holiday Island, Arkansas; two sons, Nick (Lori) Wallace of Marquette Heights and Jason (Angela) Wallace of Pekin; four grandchildren; two brothers, Chuck (Sue) Wallace and Allen (Kathy) Wallace, both of Pekin; and one sister, Tammy Cox of Euless, Texas.
Mike was an iron worker for over 30 years, working out of Iron Workers Union Local #112 in East Peoria.
A member of the Chautauqua-Goofy Ridge Sportsmen's Club, he enjoyed horseback riding and dancing. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and a life member of the American Motorcyclist Association.
Mike enjoyed his friends, family, and meeting new people.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007at the funeral home.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to a potluck dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 715 North 11th Street,Pekin.
