Millie E Tassart

Born February 17, 1919 in Green Valley to Frank and Margaret (Brown) Carpenter, she married Gaston "Bus" Tassart on March 1, 1941 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1984.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and one great-grandson.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda Potts of Pekin; three sons, Gerald (Bonnie) Tassart, Donald (Vicki) Tassart and Rex (Carol) Tassart, all of Pekin; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel (Charles) Romans of Lake Wells, Florida and Iola Anderson of Pekin.

Millie was a school crossing guard for Pekin school districts for many years, retiring in 1994.

She loved being around children. She also enjoyed crocheting, growing roses and dancing. She was a charter lifetime member of the Peoria Motorcycle Club Auxiliary.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2007from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
