Born April 21, 1914 in Pekin to John Edgar and Wilhelmina Annette (Koobs) Wolfer, she married Albert F. Buchanan on September 2, 1934 in Peoria. He died April 22, 1985 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by nine brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are her son, Jack Lee (Barbara) Buchanan of Pekin; her two daughters, Joyce Kay Risinger of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and JoEllen Buchanan of Imperial, Missouri; four grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Dr. George Wolfer of Edmore, Michigan.
Muriel was a homemaker and cherished the time spent with her family.
Private graveside services will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Rev. Steve Welker will officiate. There will be no visitation. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.
