Born March 4, 1930 in Galesburg to Earl and Melba (Bowling) Freeman, she married Harold “Whitey” Adkins on October 7, 1948 in Pekin. She was raised by her Uncle Frank and Aunt Ruth Whitenack.
Surviving are three sons, Michael (Mary Ann) Adkins of New Albany, OH, Tim (Denise) Adkins and John (Ronda) Adkins, both of Pekin; one daughter, Lisa Sheehan of Pekin; fourteen grandchildren, Amanda (Brad) Schneider of Granville, OH, Patrick (Lauren) Adkins of Reynoldsburg, OH, Branden (Kristy) Adkins of Geneva, Courtney (Kurt) O’Connor of Bloomington, Jake (Sarah) Adkins of Germantown Hills, Jamie (Brian) Powell, Ellie (Andy) Volz, Donnie (Jen) Schlottman, Matthew Sheehan, Ronnie (Jackie) Harris all of Pekin, Richelle (Michael) Bland of Arizona, Mollie Sheehan of Colorado, Michael Sheehan of Chicago, and Roderick (Amy) Harris of Metamora and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one son-in-law Dennis Sheehan.
Nadine worked at T.M.C.S.E.A. for 13 years as a secretary and retired in 1992.
She was a member of Y.W.C.A. and was active in the Venice Women’s Club in Venice, Florida. She enjoyed playing bridge and needle working. She was devoted to her family.
Her memorial service will be held Friday May 7, 2021 11:00 a.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Her memorial visitation will be held an hour prior.
Inurnment will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
