SOUTH PEKIN - Nina Joyce Leanae (Canamore) McKinney, 60, of South Pekin, passed away October 2, 2021 at her home.

Born May 8, 1961 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Willis Joseph and Nadean (Godsey) Canamore, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Willis J. Canamore Jr.

Surviving are daughters, Kimberly N. Canamore and Felicia M.N Kennedy, both of Pekin; one son, Gary J. Grazier of South Pekin; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Eric W.B. Canamore of Pekin, Byron G.L. Canamore of South Pekin, and Christopher P.J. Canamore of Roanoke.

Nina was a bold, bright and loving person. She had what her family described as “mom-mentality”. She loved caring for others and made everyone feel special. Nina spent as much time with her grandchildren as she could. She had a love for reading and doing puzzles of any kind.

A private celebration of life is being held for family and friends only Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at The BillBoard Bistro, 801 McKinley Avenue in Bartonville.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin

Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help offset funeral expenses.

I remember her as a nice caring person when I first got to meet her from Gary which is her son. She got to know us as very good friends with Gary and Jessica told me to stay good friends with Gary and Jessica. I will miss her and her caring personality. Love u Nina u will be missed.

We will all miss you so much grandma Nina me,dad,Jessi,Aiden,baby gary and other loved ones will miss you so much but you should know that your in a better place with my grandma mena and my other loved ones that have passed away. I know that me and her would always talk about what we would do for the kids birthday and we would always do each others make-up and brush each others hair an other fun things we would also have sleepovers with the other kids and everything else we would sometimes go outside if she wanted to and play outside and we would also play cards and play bingo. She always made me lough and giggle and go to the store or ride bikes togther. I hope she knows that we will miss her so much and love her VARY much

I would go over to her house to visit her and my uncle, we would sometimes talk,laugh and tell stories to each till 3am.She would give advice about life and be honest as she could while make you smile, She would help no matter what. I can’t express how much she will be missed.
