

Born May 7, 1942 in Pekin to Wilmer and Mildred (DePeugh) Merritt, she married Jerry Piro in 1963 in Pekin. In 1990, she found her soul mate Kenny Morrow. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, David Piro of Pekin, Scott Piro of Creve Coeur, Kevin Piro of Pekin; three daughters, Cindy Piro-Winget of Pekin, Millie Piro-Heilman of Streator, Brittany Morrow of Pekin; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilmer "Sonny" (Lisa) Merritt of Pekin and one sister, Wilma (James) Shelby of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and one brother.
Nina had been a CNA in the home healthcare field for over 30 years. She had last worked for Kimberly Quality Care until retiring in 1992.
She was a member of New Life Fellowship Church.
Nina had been a past member of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673.
A devoted grandmother, Nina loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed going camping at Evening Star Campground and sitting on the deck with her best friend and sister Wilma.
Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Utech will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
