Born August 10, 1931 in Pekin to Minert and Caroline (Reis) Kluever, she married Franklin Eugene “Frank” Hoyle on March 12, 1976 in Pekin. He died April 13, 2020 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Barry) Harms and Barbara Craig, both of Pekin and Nancy (Bud) Loy of Texas; three step-sons, Larry Hoyle of North Pekin, Bart (Mary) Hoyle of Pekin, and Michael (Veronica) Hoyle of Juneau, Alaska; one step-daughter, Poleane (Jeff) Knight of Unionville, Missouri; two grandchildren; fourteen step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sixteen step great-grandchildren.
She was a 1949 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
Norma and her husband owned and operated Hoyle Transportation in Pekin for 43 years, retiring in June of 2010. She also previously worked for Pekin Community High School District 303 for 20 years as the inter campus shuttle bus driver.
Norma believed Christ was the son of God and the Holy Spirit showed through her to every person she ever met. She was a pillar of strength and compassion. She will be greatly missed by all. Norma enjoyed traveling and playing cards. She will be remembered for her love of her family, work family and community.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Judy Steger Kennedy will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
