

Born on August 5, 1930 in Pekin a daughter of Tony and Eva (Brown) Eichelberger. She married Whitson McClain on January 16, 1960 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2022.
She was also preceded by her parents; one brother, Tony Eichelberger; and one great-granddaughter, Evie Cox.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Michael) Osenkarski of Creve Coeur and Sheri (Timothy) O’Connor of Homer Glen; six grandchildren, Jeff Lovell of Boulder, Colorado, Kimberly Lovell of Peoria, Joshua Osenkarski of Creve Coeur, Meagan (Timothy) Black of Creve Coeur, Sean O’Connor of Mokena, Brenna (Conor) Welsch of Homer Glen; seven great-grandchildren, Brysen, Max, Keegan, Jason, Lucas, Oliver and Shea; two sisters, Alosia (Ron) Carlson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Sally Caracheo of Elgin; and one sister-in-law, Rita Eichelberger;.
She worked as a secretary for many years. Jean was a member of the Dorrisville Baptist Church for 30 years; Sweet Adelines; Red Hats Society; Home Extension; Choir and enjoyed playing the piano and organ.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday September 5, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior.
