

Born August 21, 1924 in Beardstown to Fred C. and Alta May Jones Taylor, she married Jesse H. Nash on March 29, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 6, 1972; 1 son, Charles A. Nash; 1 grandson; 1 sister; and 8 brothers.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Patsy Covey and Lynda Dudley, both of Pekin; 2 sons, John W. (Debra) Nash of West Plains, Missouri and David E. (Diana) Nash of Peoria; 19 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 1 brother, Everett W. (Pauline) Taylor of Pekin; and 2 sisters, Bertha (Robert) Callaway of Canton and Pat Canada of Baltimore, Maryland.
Opal was a Baptist and attended Gethsemane Church in Pekin.
She loved her church, playing BINGO, sewing, collecting angels, and dining out.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. The Rev. Frank Noyes will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2007at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
