Born August 27, 1951 in Pekin to Myron and Ruth (Collins) DeBoer, she married Allen King October 10, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Pekin. He survives. She was previously married to Jerry Whitney of Pekin.
Also surviving are four daughters, Valerie (Michael) Griffin of South Pekin, Andrea (Daniel) Shuda of Pekin, Amber Whitney of Oneida, Tennessee and Stacey (Anthony) Gardner of Pekin; one son, Jacob Whitney of Marquette Heights; four step-sons, Andrew, Nicholas, Alexander and Nathanial; thirty two grandchildren and two sisters, LaVetta Sevier of Pekin and Cathy Ward of Kansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Matthew and two brothers, Virgil and Myron "Mick" DeBoer.
Pam worked for the Susan G Komen Foundation at Pekin Hospital. She also worked as a medical transcriptionist at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She loved reading and playing games and researching things on the computer. She loved singing and had a beautiful voice. In her younger years, Pam was an avid bowler, she was a member of the local bowling league and had won several trophies. She also loved collecting salt and pepper shakers and cookie jars.
Her memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory. Pastor Mike Roberts will officiate. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Pekin.
