

PEKIN ~ Pannette Marie Gentil, 51, of Pekin, passed away suddenly due to an unforeseen complication at 8:38 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria. Pannette bravely battled cancer for the last six years.
Born March 30, 1964 in Peoria to Charles Patrick and Janet Faye (Golden) Galvin, she married Michael K. Rose on July 28, 2011 in Bellevue, Iowa. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Janet Brown of Morton; her father, Pat Galvin of Pekin; one daughter, Sarah Marie Gentil of Pekin; one step-son, Justin Rose of Pekin; two sisters, Charlet Marie (Daniel) McGovern of Pekin and Kelly Marie (John) Johnson of Newport Beach, CA and four nieces and nephews, Jack Johnson, Molly McGovern, Anna McGovern and Joe Johnson. She also leaves her mothers-in-law, Carolyn Huls of Pekin and Joyce (Jim) Modglin of Mapleton.
Pannette last worked for Illinois Mutual Insurance in Peoria. She was the longtime manager of Weinstein’s Restaurant in East Peoria, which was owned by her mother. She also served as a sales representative for Waugh Food and at Jones Bros. Jewelers as the manager at their former Silverwear Store.
Pannette loved gardening and being outdoors, especially working in the yard. She also enjoyed vacationing and had a special fondness for her dogs. Pannette was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was extremely devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed gathering and spending time with them.
She was a member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene, where she was an active member of the Connect Group. She also took part in Family Connections at the church. She also was a member of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
