

Born February 1, 1936 in Witt, Illinois to Roy and Elvira (Niesman) Shallenberger, she married Jacob Sturm on February 14, 1959 in Pekin.
Surviving are her husband, Jake of Pekin; two daughters, Brenda (Bob) Adams of Pekin and Denise (Steve) Tumilty of Tremont; seven grandchildren, Janessa (Jonathan) Kingdon and Justin Adams, both of Pekin, Jeff (Kristie) Adams, of Bartonville, Jody (Doug) Simmons of Morton, Starsha, Trista and Tiffany; several great-grandchildren and five siblings, Ronnie Grashoff, Monica (Alvin) Connett, Anne Potter, Lisa Drury and David (Cindy) Shallenberger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Rick Grashoff, Joe (Mary) Shallenberger and Roy Shallenberger, Jr.
Patsy had worked in the cafeteria at Pekin Community High School and drove a school bus for Hoyle Transportation for many years.
An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Patsy enjoyed boating and family trips to the Lake of the Ozarks and spending winters in Florida. She loved being outdoors and taking long walks along Park Avenue to the Park Lagoon and riding her bike on the Rock Island Trail. Patsy also enjoyed tending to her beautiful flowers in her yard, playing card games and Yahtzee, eating out and a good cup of iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts.
Patsy enjoyed traveling to softball tournaments and thoroughly spending time with friends and family and cheering on her great-grandsons, Brody and Grayson Kingdon at all their sporting events.
A gathering celebrating Patsy’s life will be Sunday, August 4, 2024 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Pekin Park Pavilion. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
