Phyllis Jean Beeney

PEKIN ~ Phyllis Jean Beeney, 76, of 1131 S. Capitol Street, passed away at 7:35 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011.

Born November 6, 1934 in Manito to Floyd and Fay Etta (Smith) Callaway, she married Murle Beeney on August 12, 1972 in Pekin.  He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Jody Hiser of Pekin; one son, David (Julie) Hess of Pekin; one step-son, Jerry (Jan) Beeney of Atwood, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patsy (Don) Wright of Green Valley, Dorothy Obright of Fulton and Linda Ferguson of Pekin; and one brother, Donald (Joan) Callaway of Skaneateles, New York.

Phyllis was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin.

She worked as a candy clerk at Maurie's in Pekin for 15 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Rev. Timothy P. Collard will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
