

Born July 18, 1922 in Peoria County to Robert F. and Edith (Northrup) Sill, she married Carl Henry Legg on April 21, 1961 in Pekin. He died October 25, 1996 in Peoria Heights. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Hogue and one brother, Keith Sill.
Surviving are one daughter, Edna Mae (Marvin) Graham, Jr. of Pekin; four grandchildren, Terry A. Graham, Jason C. (Amanda) Graham, Sr., Ashley M. Graham and Michael W. (Robin) Graham; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Charlotte (Kermitt) Erickson of Dassel, Minnesota.
Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin and formerly attended Christ Bible Church in Creve Coeur. She also had been a Sunday School teacher in the Primary department for over 20 years.
She was a life member of the Peoria Motorcycle Club and the American Motorcyclist Association. She had enjoyed, traveling with her husband, reading, knitting, singing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Phyllis had worked for Block & Kuhl and Carson's, both in Downtown Peoria. She later worked as the head baker in the Richwoods High School cafeteria. She retired in June 1984 after nearly 18 years of service.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Friday and Pastor Tom Pisano will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Hanna City.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
