

Born October 19, 1931 in Spring Lake Township, Tazewell County, she was the daughter of Gene Cameron and Nellie Lucille (Petty) Williams. She married Rev. Ralph Henry Sauter on April 8, 1950 in Easton. He died January 22, 2015 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph “Joe” Williams and one sister, Donna Bradshaw.
Surviving are one son, Rev. Larry (Vicky) Sauter of Pekin; one granddaughter, Holly Sauter of Brookfield and three brothers, Larry (Judy) Williams of Las Vegas, Jess Williams of Tremont and Gene (Sharon) Williams, Jr. of Pekin and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Phyllis dedicated her life to serving the Lord and supporting her husband in Christian ministry. She will be remembered as a gifted pianist with the God given ability to play by ear. She also loved to sing with her family.
Phyllis loved to crochet, making many items for her own home and shared many gifts of her handiwork.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Manito.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Manito. Rev. Larry Sauter, her son, and Rev. Mike Hopps will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also one half-hour before the funeral Friday at the church. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
