

She was born February 16, 1929 in Peoria to Enoch and Mable (Harris) Duttarer. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, David A. (Sheila) White and R. Allen (Julie) White, both of East Peoria; two daughters, Rebecca A. (Bill) Combs of Creve Coeur and Mary A. (Nate) Willmon of North Pekin; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Barbara Braundmeier of Decatur; and her cat, Squirt. She is also survived by Jenny (Brett) Sammon of Wisconsin, who she helped raise and a special caregiver who was her guardian angel, Rhonda Hake.
Phyllis had worked at the Velvet Freeze in Creve Coeur, Wagon Wheel Restaurant in East Peoria as a cook, and last at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria as a housekeeper for 10 years.
She enjoyed baking. She was known for her baking ability. Her expertise was pies, desserts and breads. They were they best around and enjoyed by many.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Pastor Tom Pisano will officiate. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
