She was born on January 17, 1940 in South Pekin to Rolland and Alice (Benjamin) Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gregory Scott Cohenour and several brothers and sisters.
Priscilla is survived by her best friend and husband, Ronald W. Simpson; daughters, Lori (Rick) Blaich of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Traci (Matt) Van Prooyen of Bloomington; sons, Jeffrey Alan Cohenour of Pekin and Todd (Tanya) Simpson of Tremont; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Vicky (Barry) Burns of Peoria; a brother, Roland Reed of Pekin and many nieces and nephews.
Priscilla was a woman of faith and was most happy when she was in the service of others. For many years she hosted a women’s Bible study group in her home. She was an active member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. She was full of life and known for her warmth, beauty and grace, and contagious smile.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. A loyal and compassionate friend and generous with her time to all. She enjoyed home design, gardening, and preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Almost every conversation with Priscilla ended with an “I love you” and you knew she meant it.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral on Saturday. Burial will follow in Green Valley Cemetery.
