

Born March 17, 1942 in Pekin to Joseph J. Sr. and Jessie P. (Shay) Phillips, he married Connie Marie McCoy on November 30, 1961 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Lory E. (Mark) Hall of Pekin; two grandchildren, Nathan A. Hall and Amanda R. (Chad) Jones, both of Pekin; one great-grandson, Gunnar A. Jones; five brothers, William W. (Dorothy) Phillips of White Cloud, Missouri, Joseph J. (Linda) Phillips, Daniel R. (Rose) Phillips, and Larry G. (Sandy) Phillips, all of Pekin, and Gerald D. (Jennifer) Phillips of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Alberta (Paul) Hoak and Joann Phillips, both of Pekin; one step-brother, James E. (Darla) House of Mackinaw; and his dog, Queenie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother (Imogene Goodin), and one brother (James Phillips).
Ralph was a self-employed mechanic for many years.
He attended First Assembly of God in Pekin.
Ralph enjoyed listening to gospel and Johnny Cash music and burning and sharing music with others. He was a Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Quinn McKenzie will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
