

Born August 8, 1928 in Kansas City, Kansas to Emmitt and Helen Schooley, she married Edgar Gumm in 1945 in Kansas City. He died November 21, 1993 in Iowa City. She also was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Clarence, three sisters, one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.
Surviving are one son, Rick (Terri) Gumm of East Peoria; three daughters, Carol Bannister of Creve Coeur, Brenda (William) Beard of East Peoria and Linda (Arba) Shaffer of Metamora; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren.
She attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in East Peoria.
She worked for several years driving a catering truck for a catering company in Peoria.
She loved to cook, crochet and take walks.
Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following services.
