

Born May 22, 1957 in Pekin to Kenneth L. and Verna B. (Hermann) Vehslage, she married Bradley R. Hillig on October 14, 1989 in Pekin.
Surviving is one daughter, Sarah Katherine Hillig of Pekin. She also leaves an extended family with several cousins.
Her parents preceded her in death.
A 1975 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Becky worked 18 years for Pekin Insurance and then as a secretary for Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin for twelve years, last working in 2010.
She had a love for music and was a talented organist, pianist and vocalist. Becky was a soprano and sang with Pekin Civic Chorus and Friends in Harmony. She once sang the National Anthem at the start of a Peoria Chiefs game.
She was a member and longtime organist at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she sang and played for countless weddings and funerals. She also served as a substitute organist for St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin and Trinity Lutheran Church in Manito.
Becky also enjoyed bowling; was extremely fond of cats and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Rodger P. Abatie will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
