Rhonda S Nagel

Born March 8, 1945 in Waverly to Alfred E. and Evelyn E. (Mullen) Lythell, she married Larry E. Nagel on July 5, 1964 in Waverly. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1990 in Peoria. Also preceding her are her parents and one brother.

Surviving are one son, Tim (Maria) Nagel of Brodhead, WI; two daughters, Tracy (Shannon) Chasteen of Pekin and Wendi (Peter) Paul of Eureka; five grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Brooke, Emma and Josh; and one sister, Dixie (William) Gramke of Wichita, KS.

Rhonda had worked for Federal Companies in East Peoria in the Motorcycle Department for 10 years, retiring on March 1, 2005.

She had been a member at Parkway Christian Church in Pekin where she had been active, particularly with Hearthtenders and the Angel Food Café.

Rhonda was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s activities. Her hobbies included reading and Bible studies, sewing crocheting, needlepoint, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to see her sister in Wichita. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Ed Ross will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at East Cemetery in Waverly.
