

Born May 3, 1950 in Castine, Maine to Rendell Harold and Vonda Clifton (Christian) Willis, she married Nelson Lee Sellers on March 20, 1970 in Guam. He died December 6, 2020 in Brownsville, Texas. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two daughters, Angela (Brian) Hilst of Green Valley and Jennifer (Scott) Hoecker of Pekin; four grandchildren, Baylee Hoecker, Brooke Hoecker, Emily Hilst and Brandon Hilst; three brothers, Larry (Sue) Willis of East Peoria, Gary (Peggy) Willis of Peoria and Vance (Judy) Willis of Rochester, Minnesota and two brothers-in-law, Aaron (Molly) Sellers of Tremont and Rick (Carla) Sellers of Mason City.
A homemaker, Rhonda was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed volunteering for her daughter’s activities. She was an organizer of the After Prom Excitement event held in Pekin for many years. In recent years she loved going to her grandkids activities. She enjoyed golfing, baking and making crafts. She also loved her Bunco girls and was a part of two groups. Her retirement job was working at Parkview Golf Course.
She was devoted to her family and enjoyed wintering with her husband in Texas and spending time with her River Bend family.
She was a former member of San Jose United Methodist Church.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks will be followed. Inurnment will be held following the service at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin for both Rhonda and Nelson. Military rites for Nelson will be accorded by the United States Air force and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
