Richard L Goodrich

Born December 23, 1941 in Peoria to Russell R. and Selena Ruth (Bryan) Goodrich, he married Sue Carol Peck on March 10, 1962 in Millington, Tennessee. She died September 24, 2003 in Peoria. He later married Joyce Ellen (Stahl) Simpson on October 2, 2004 in Marquette Heights. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jeff (Terri) Goodrich of Puyallup, Washington; three daughters, Julie (Mike) Farris of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Stephanie (Vince) Davis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Tricia (Ben) Berry of Springfield; two step-daughters, Denise (Thad) Penrod of Springville, Utah and Rhonda (Blake) Martin of Kansas City, Kansas; two step-sons, Scott (Angela) Jones and Cliff (Holly) Simpson, both of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) Harris and Amber Goodrich, both of Puyallup, Susan Farris of Calico Rock, Samantha Davis, Haley Davis, and Delaney Davis, all of Murfreesboro, and Nathaniel Berry and Lorraine Berry both of Springfield; thirteen step-grandchildren; one great-grandson, Ryan Davis; two sisters, Diane (Bob) Baccheschi and Sharon (Roger) Hopper, both of Pekin; and one sister-in-law, Beverly Goodrich of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and one brother (Gary Goodrich).

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War.

Dick worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 2001 as a supervisor at building LL in East Peoria.

He was a member of Riverside Community Church in Peoria. He was a former volunteer fireman in Marquette Heights for 18 years, serving 13 years as fire chief. He also was a former member of the Marquette Heights Jaycees and past Cub Scout master. Dick enjoyed traveling.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Pastor John King will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
