Born August 2, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to William and Louise (Rust) Johnson, he married Victoria Helmer on November 2, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Michelle (Stephen) Brown of Missouri, Carissa (Jamey) Adams of Kewanee and Brian (Kristin) Johnson of Pekin; six grandchildren, especially Nicholas Johnson, whom lives with them and two great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
He worked as a journeyman machinist at Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville, retiring in 2010.
Richard loved to spend his time on the golf course. He also enjoyed playing computer games.
His memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded.
