Richard R Martin

Born April 14, 1949 in Pekin to Ora L. and Venola E. Jibben, he married Patricia Miller on May 19, 1968 in Green Valley.  She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Pekin; two sons, Shane Martin of San Francisco, CA and Justin (Dawn Welborn and Baylee Rhoades) Martin of Tremont; one sister, Gleneta Reaugh of Peoria and one brother Micky Martin of Camp Point.

Richard attended Green Valley schools, graduating from Green Valley High School in 1967.

He retired from Caterpillar Inc. in August, 1998 after working as a machine repairman for 30 years.  He was a proud member in good standing of the United Auto Workers Local 974.

Richard loved the outdoors and hunting.  He was especially happy to return to his home place on the farm in 2005, where he enjoyed the birds and wildlife.

His funeral will be at noon Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin.   Richard Ledbetter will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Green Valley Cemetery.
